Worn Out Sneakers

Over the last few months I’ve heard a couple of stories, other than the ones in the media, about young people taking their lives. Ending before they even started.  As a grown woman it breaks my heart.  As a parent it scares the crap out of me.

Life is hard and there are times that people, especially teenagers, get lost and twisted. I tell my children this, “If you ever get there…twisted where you can’t get out…just hold on and wait for me.  I’ll find you.”  And then I hope to God they listen.

As children grow they need to understand that things don’t always work out, the world can be an ugly place and you will feel bad.  As parents we need to, in a controlled environment, show the ugly and the sad.  Otherwise, how will they ever know how to cope and work their way out.

Life’s not a movie or even a music video, but there are messages that can be sent through song.  I’ve always liked all kinds of music. The two videos below are just talent.  Different and really the same.

That’s all from the laundry room.  Sleep tight!
