Shower Cap
This is my 100th Post. That’s kind of a big deal, right?
Anytime something is a big deal, or I tell myself, “This is a big deal!” the same thing happens. Nothing. Especially when it comes to writing.
Whether I’m writing a chapter for a book or a blog post. If it’s a big deal, I draw a blank. I think about it too much. For the last few years this blog has been my random thoughts, ramblings. It’s been effortless and fun. So, why would I jinx myself now and make this 100th post anything different. I didn’t.
This last week I took a shower for the first time with a shower cap. I’m almost 40 and this was my first shower cap experience. So cool.
I have long hair that needs to be straightened and sometimes, most of the time, it is a royal pain. The woman that does my hair told me that I should go at least 3 days in between washing and straightening my hair. Like a dummy I replied that even when I pull my hair up in the shower it gets wet and I might as well just…”Well, use a shower cap,” she says.
I’d never used one. Sure I’d seen them in hotels and I think there’s something kind of like a cap they put on your hair when you get it colored. My grandmother used a shower cap, but I’d never experienced a shower cap actually in the shower.
It’s been kind of a crazy month and I found myself excited to get and use a shower cap. I stumbled upon something I’d never tried before, that was simple. I didn’t need to buy airline tickets or start planning. I stopped at Walgreens and bought a very cute shower cap that comes in it’s own little bag. I think there’s beauty products on it. I didn’t really look.
I tucked my hair into the cute little cap and although I looked pretty silly it kept my hair dry. Simple, new and really cool. I dried it off and put it back in the little bag. I’m now the owner of a shower cap.
Simple is good, uncomplicated and often times produces some pretty great surprises. I wanted to blog about my shower cap, but something told me I needed a profound topic for my 100th blog, something that would stand out. What the hell was I thinking? The shower cap idea was way better.
That’s all from the laundry room. 100 Winks!
