Turnouts

I love when the arts have the courage to reflect a view felt by a society, not matter how ugly or controversial. Bravo to Rescue Me, a series on FX. I felt this way after 9/11 and it was the closest thing to blasphemy. During that time people were ripped apart for any feeling that wasn’t blind adoration…remember the flags on all the cars.

I’m proud to be an American every day of my life and I’m eternally indebted to our military men and women for the incredible work they do all over the world. That being said, we are a country that strives to do better and be better. We can not possibly espouse those goals without honesty. I’m so proud of Dennis Leary and this show for having the balls (sorry, no other word is appropriate) to say it out loud. The show’s good too, a little self satisfying, but good.

That’s all from the laundry room. Leave the Lights On!
